CASTING DIRECTOR WORKSHOPS…
RUN BY ACTORS FOR ACTORS!
WHO IS GOGO ACTING?
GoGo Acting/Casting Director Workshops are run by actors for actors. As of January 2015, the new owner is JIM GARRITY – a fellow GoGo member and a dear friend. BETH GEIGER and SUZANNE GUTIERREZ started GoGo in 2007 as a place where actors could network, learn more about auditioning and not feel like just another face in the crowd. It is friendly, intimate (22 actors or less) and always educational. Come check out GoGo Acting/Casting Director Workshops and see why they are different than other workshops for the past eight years!
LOCATION & CONTACT
1078 Lillian Way (follow signs for GoGo)
Hollywood, CA 90038
Saturday MORNING Workshop – 10am – 12:30pm
Saturday AFTERNOON Workshop – 1:30pm – 4:00pm
Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign in. Don’t be late!!
When you sign in, please take an evaluation sheet. When you go up for your scene, please give it to the casting director so he/she can fill it out and give it back to you. The casting director begins the workshop with a Q&A with the actors. Next, you are paired up with a scene partner and given sides. Actors are given 15 minutes to work on the sides and then come back into the room. Your scene partner will be your reader and you will be a reader for your scene partner. You will be performing your scene alone on stage.
However, we leave the format ultimately to the casting director. If the casting director chooses to do paired scenes, you will be paired with a scene partner the day of the workshop. Or, the casting director may choose to be the reader. The casting director will run the workshop to his or her preference. If there isn’t a preference, then the scenes will be performed with a reader (as mentioned above). ***Double check the calendar to see how the workshop will be run***
